Delhi and the National Capital Region were blanketed in dense fog on Sunday, reducing visibility to near zero and disrupting travel, with several flights and trains delayed. Operations are gradually returning to normal as the day progresses.
The capital shivered through a minimum temperature of 5.3°C on Sunday morning, 2.3°C below the seasonal average. The region has been experiencing a cold wave, with temperatures dropping to 2.9°C on Thursday, 3.3°C on Friday, and 4.3°C on Saturday.
Adding to the discomfort, air quality in Delhi remained hazardous, with the AQI soaring to 439, putting residents at risk amid the dense fog and biting cold.
