Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Calls on Kenya Defence Forces to Collaborate with Indian Defence Companies

Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar has encouraged the Kenya Defence Forces to explore partnership opportunities with Indian defence companies. He made the remarks while addressing the third India-Kenya Defence Exhibition and Seminar in Nairobi during his three-day visit to Kenya.

Highlighting India’s robust defence industrial capabilities, Secretary Kumar called for deeper cooperation, building on the long-standing bilateral ties between the two nations.

The exhibition and seminar served as a platform for industrial collaboration, co-development, and capacity building. According to the Ministry of Defence, 21 Indian defence firms showcased advanced products across key areas, including shipbuilding, armoured vehicles, UAVs, missile systems, weapons, ammunition, cyber security, and protection systems.

During his visit, Mr. Kumar also held bilateral meetings with senior officials from Kenya’s Ministry of Defence and the Kenya Defence Forces. Discussions focused on defence industrial partnerships, training, capacity building, and long-term collaboration in defence exports and maintenance.
