Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the six-day national culture and tourism festival, Bharat Parv 2026, at the Red Fort in New Delhi yesterday.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Birla emphasized that the festival aims to strengthen India’s cultural heritage by providing a platform to showcase the traditions of different states and regions. He noted that the initiative will play a significant role in boosting the nation’s tourism potential.
Highlighting the values enshrined in the Constitution—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—Mr. Birla said Bharat Parv will act as a bridge connecting these ideals with the public, making constitutional values tangible through shared traditions and cultural experiences. He also underscored the festival’s contribution to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by promoting livelihoods through handicrafts, handlooms, and traditional cuisine.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat added that the festival will offer visitors an immersive experience of India’s rich traditions, folk arts, crafts, culinary diversity, and tourism destinations, fostering a deeper connection with the country’s heritage.
The event will feature participation from 34 State Tourism Pavilions, 24 Central Ministry stalls, and several leading institutions and organizations from across the country.
