Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on January 22 assured government employees that issues regarding the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and lateral entry would be examined seriously and taken up with the Government of India at appropriate levels. Speaking at the 7th General Conference of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) in Pasighat, he acknowledged the validity of employees’ concerns and noted that lateral entry is now under fresh scrutiny by the Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC).
Khandu emphasized the role of CoSAAP in streamlining employee demands and called for stronger coordination among its units. He highlighted ongoing administrative reforms, including manpower distribution and workload assessments, and said the ARC’s interim report is ready for discussion.
The Chief Minister praised government employees as the “permanent system” of governance, stressed honesty and accountability, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to employee welfare, with upcoming budget allocations for infrastructure and facilities. He urged employees to contribute to performance improvements and practical solutions, calling them central to achieving Arunachal Pradesh’s development vision by 2047.
