Arunachal CM Launches Major Border Development, Announces Anini Airport

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects in Anini, Dibang Valley, near the Indo-China border, including a District Hospital, Panchayat Resource Centre, tourism facilities, and a heritage museum. He also announced plans for a new airport to improve connectivity and boost tourism and reverse migration.

Khandu held a full Cabinet meeting in Anini, emphasizing decentralised governance and border-area development. Upcoming projects include a High-Altitude Medicinal Plant Research Centre, Trout Hatchery, and strategic road improvements. The Chief Minister highlighted the 3,096 MW Etalin hydropower project as a transformative initiative for the state.

Solar streetlights will be installed in Anini, and contractors were directed to expedite the 73-km Greenfield road project. Lawmakers and officials praised Anini’s scenic beauty and urged residents to responsibly use the new public facilities.
