Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam on January 29–30, focusing on major infrastructure projects and political consultations ahead of the Assembly elections. He will arrive at Dibrugarh airport in the evening and meet senior BJP leaders to review poll strategies.
Key highlights of the visit include:

Laying the foundation stone of Assam Assembly’s second complex in Dibrugarh (Rs 284 crore), featuring a new Assembly building, MLA hostel, auditorium, and barracks.

Inaugurating the first phase of a modern sports complex (Rs 238 crore) and laying the foundation for its second phase (Rs 209 crore), including facilities for 30,000 spectators.

Foundation stone for the Institute of Wildlife Health and Research at Dinjan and virtual launch of wetland restoration projects under the National Disaster Mitigation Fund Scheme.
Shah will also attend the Takam Mising Porin Kebang Youth Festival in Dhemaji and visit the Assam BJP headquarters in Guwahati before leaving for West Bengal. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and other senior BJP leaders will accompany him.
This marks Shah’s second visit to Assam since late December, ahead of elections to the 126-member Assembly expected in March–April.
