July 24: Continuous monsoon rainfall has triggered flooding in several parts of Assam’s Sivasagar district, with rising floodwaters entering residential areas and disrupting normal life.
Ground visuals received by Northeast Diary show floodwater entering homes, leaving residents struggling as water levels continue to rise. Several houses have been partially inundated, making living conditions increasingly difficult amid the ongoing spell of heavy rain.Waterlogged roads and inundated neighbourhoods have also affected local movement, causing inconvenience to residents and disrupting routine activities.The flood situation has heightened concerns among local residents as incessant rainfall continues to affect the district. People have appealed to the authorities for timely assistance and long-term measures to reduce the impact of recurring floods in vulnerable areas.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation while relief and response measures remain underway in the affected areas. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant as the monsoon season continues
