Ukhrul, April 12, 2026:
The Roudei (T.M. Kasom) Village Authority in Ukhrul district has issued a strict Security Restriction Notice, prohibiting the entry and operation of any security forces, armed personnel, or related agencies within the village jurisdiction without prior authorization.
According to the notice, the Village Authority asserts its sole authority over the administration and maintenance of law, order, and security within the village. It emphasized that this practice is rooted in longstanding customary laws and traditions, which the village continues to uphold.
The directive clearly states that any external force seeking entry must obtain formal written permission from the Village Authority. Requests made through informal means such as phone calls or messages will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Furthermore, the notice warns that any personnel or agency found entering or conducting operations within the village without prior approval will do so at their own risk. The Village Authority has stated it will not be held responsible for any consequences arising from such actions and reserves the right to take necessary measures in response to violations.
Describing the declaration as final and binding, the Village Authority cautioned that strict action will be taken against anyone found disregarding the directive.
The move comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, reflecting heightened concerns over security and local governance.
