Senapati, April 9: Security forces apprehended two individuals at T. Khullen Naka Check Post under Senapati Police Station in Senapati district on Friday for possession of suspected contraband substances.
The arrested persons have been identified as Satyendra Nath (38), a resident of Rambhadur Para, Dasda in North Tripura, and Sudip Paul (42), a resident of Pekuchhara, Panisagar, also in North Tripura.
According to official sources, the arrests were made during routine checking operations at the naka point. Upon inspection, the security personnel recovered approximately 1.220 kg of suspected WY tablets (amphetamine) from their possession.
In addition to the contraband, a red Hyundai i20 car bearing registration number AS01DN-3717, along with its key and registration certificate, was seized. Four mobile phones, one Aadhaar card, and a driving licence were also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
