Finance Minister to Unveil Union Budget 2026-27 in Lok Sabha Tomorrow

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2026-27 in the Lok Sabha on February 1. Following the presentation in the Lower House, the budget documents will be formally tabled in the Rajya Sabha. This marks Mrs. Sitharaman’s ninth consecutive Budget since taking office in 2019 and the third of the Narendra Modi government’s third term.

The detailed Budget documents will be accessible on the official website and mobile app immediately after the Finance Minister’s speech. After the presentation, Mrs. Sitharaman will engage with around 30 college students from across the country to discuss the budget and its implications.

In preparation for the Budget, the Finance Minister conducted extensive pre-budget consultations with stakeholders, including economists, trade unions, industry representatives, MSMEs, and experts from the education, health, and financial sectors. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also held detailed consultations on agriculture and rural development, submitting a comprehensive report of recommendations to the Finance Ministry.

Inputs from citizens, particularly the youth, were gathered through various platforms and will be reflected in key aspects of the Union Budget 2026-27.
