Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will undertake a three-day visit to Tripura and Assam from January 23 to 25 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects, officials said.
During his visit to Tripura, the Union Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹574.2 crore under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER).
Scindia will arrive in Agartala on January 23 and attend the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of various MDoNER projects at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Indranagar. He will also visit the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Wing at Agartala Government Medical College and the Agartala Government Dental College. Later in the day, the minister will offer prayers at the Tripurasundari Shaktipeeth, popularly known as the Matabari Temple.
On January 24, he will visit Kadamtala in North Tripura district to inaugurate agarwood-based projects worth ₹78.53 crore. The minister is also scheduled to visit the Unakoti heritage site.
On January 25, Scindia will launch the Matabari Tourism Circuit project, valued at ₹276.78 crore, at Dumbur. He will later travel to Guwahati, Assam, to participate in the foundation-laying and launch of bamboo-based projects.
Officials said the visit highlights the Centre’s emphasis on accelerating infrastructure development, promoting tourism, and supporting livelihood-based initiatives across the northeastern region.
