Ahead of Tripura Statehood Day, the state government has announced the recipients of the State Civil Awards and Statehood Day Awards for outstanding contributions across various fields. The awards will be presented at the state-level celebration on January 21 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.
The prestigious Tripura Bibhushan will be conferred posthumously on eminent educationist Dhirendra Chandra Dutta. The Tripura Bhushan will be awarded posthumously to former Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen and noted screenplay writer Biplab Goswami. Renowned folk artist Surya Kumar Debbarma (Sadagar) will receive the Sachin Dev Burman Memorial State Award, while Champa Das will be honoured with the Maharani Kanchanprabha Devi Memorial State Award. Dr Arijit Das will receive the State Award for contributions to science and environment.
Among the Statehood Day Awards, Gautam Das has been selected for the Good Citizen Award, Atkalapa Biotechnology LLP as Best Startup, and Dhanbabu Halam as Best Entrepreneur in agriculture and horticulture. Awards in fisheries, animal husbandry, handloom, handicrafts, beekeeping, industrial enterprise, mobile app innovation, and cooperative sector will go to Krishna Debbarma, Ratan Debnath, Uttam Kumar Das, Dipak Dutta, Lakshman Malakar, Shriparna Debnath, Satyabrata Biswas, and Tulamura PACS Limited, respectively.
